Hiatuses can take two forms: either your character goes on autopilot, or your character can either be put on autopilot, or they can catch a magical sickness that the Coven will force them into bedrest for. After all, the Coven already has to deal with the Cwyld - it doesn't want to have to deal with any other illnesses spreading. Their bedrest will last the length of their hiatus period, with the character drifting in and out of sleep, running a fever, and generally having something similar to a rather severe flu. Thankfully, there are Witches who specialize in keeping people alive - including the head of the Coven herself - and your character will be a little weak coming out of their illness, but without any lasting damage. When your character is dropped, the mirror they came through in The Looking-Glass House will crack as if hit with a hammer, signifying the breakage of their bond to the world. Their possessions from home will disappear one by one in the days following their drop, though ones that were gotten in Aefenglom will remain. With that out of the way, if you need to take a hiatus or drop a character (or two, or the game), then simply copy and paste the appropriate code into your comment! Please mark whether you're hiatusing or dropping in your subject line. Hiatuses at least two weeks long will only have to submit half AC, while hiatuses three weeks or longer will not have to submit AC at all. If you submit a hiatus for under two weeks, this will not affect your AC requirements but will still count as a hiatus for the month. We recommend only posting hiatuses of two weeks or longer. If you wish to rescind a hiatus you didn't need, you must let us know before the AC period begins. Additionally, the longest any one hiatus can be by default is one month, but if you need it extended or have special circumstances, let us know, either through PMing the mod journal or commenting to the mod contact post. Please note, if you're on a full (3+ week) hiatus, you still have to check in during the AC period. If you know you won't be able to do so, you can have a friend check in for you, or let us know beforehand through PM or your hiatus comment that you won't be able to check in.
