NPC CONTACT

▪
While the Bonded pair are particularly busy - between their everyday work for the Coven and Parliament, and looking for answers to new arrivals' questions - they've placed a mailbox outside the Coven gates for anyone to leave a letter for them. These can be non-urgent queries, updates for Nessie or Mhairi, requests for in-person appointments, etc.
You can also reach them both by watch now! They've gotten their own, and will answer at their earliest availability. However, if your message or request for them is time sensitive, it's always recommended that you seek them out at the Coven itself, especially to reach Miss Nessie. Relaying messages through Parliament can be difficult, but this is also an option, if Mhairi is currently attending a session.
If you wish to interact with Nessie and Mhairi outside of the intro logs, please comment here. You have the option of handwaving the IC interaction to OOCly ask what questions your character might have for them, for us to summarize an answer for, or you can request an IC thread. Simply specify in your comment's subject IC or OOC, comment to the specific NPC you'd like to contact, and we'll respond accordingly. If you're looking to speak to both, please respond to the toplevel below.
Face-to-face IC interactions are granted in special OOC circumstances, such as follow-ups to quests, investigations, or a previous thread. OOC "handwaving" of a face-to-face interaction is still good to go!

Miss Nessie,
I wished to thank you for all that you've done for us. It must be a lot- I hope we've not been too much of a handful. With that in mind- I wonder if there was anything that we- or I, particularly- would be able to do for you.
Further- is is possible for Monsters to sit in and learn about magic? [this definitely got scratched a lot in drafts, but… that's also not the sort of face he wants to show. There are some complicated feelings happening around that all the same.]
My thanks, for everything.

Likely the faint sweet smell of fruit pastries being the culprit. ]
Dearest Sir Thancred,
Your thanks are much appreciated! I know things haven't been easy for the lot of you either - but we're all in this together, for better or worse, whether we want to be or not. Might as well make the best of it, we might.
To tell you the truth, 'tis a bit taxing throwing the welcome party and getting new mirrorbounds up-to-speed - especially when we've got other things going on. Mhairi dear and I can still be around to answer the big questions, but if you or a couple other mirrorbounds that've been here a while could handle making all the new people feel welcome and less confused about all this, we'd be right grateful. It might make the lot of them feel better to hear it all coming from people who've been experiencing it too, it might. We in the Coven do our best, but our lives - how we've dealt with all this - is much different from all of you, isn't it? We all grew up with this type of thing.
I'd be happy to help supply whatever you needed - the rest of the Coven would, too. Just ask, and it'll be prepared in a right jiffy.
For your second query, why, I don't see why not! While Monsters can't use it all proper like we Witches can, I've always felt it's just as important to be able to understand how it all works. Makes it easier to counter too, once you've got some knowledge. I've heard of Harpies and other Monsters that've taken a look or two at magic getting some inspiration for their own minor versions of it too, so that might be worth something.
It's wonderful to hear from you, Sir Thancred, and I hope to do so again sometime soon!
Ever yours,
Miss Nessie ♡

Miss Nessie,
Precisely the thought I had myself.
I imagine it would help to see that others have been through this, and how we've been managing. It does seem very different- there are some tales of transformations in my own home, but they're not much like what we've seen here.
That would be a great help, thank you. I think what we're most likely to be in need of is information- what might be expected, and where people can go.
Of course. Knowledge is a kind of power. Have they? That's interesting- I'll be sure to look into that.
I'm glad to hear that, and most glad to hear from you as well! Perhaps if time allows, we might be able to speak again.
Regards,
Thancred
