starseedling: (allow me to tell you a thing)

Gunna christen this FAQ page with a question about monster transformations:

The descriptions of monsters are pretty general/open. Is there going to be more specifics there of what's allowed, or is pretty much a free for all as long as it fits the monster type you are becoming?

For example, fae can be based on any type of winged insect. Is it fine to mix together multiple types of winged insects? (Say, mixing moth with beetle.) Can you pick an inspiration but make them a colored or patterned in a way that doesn't appear in nature? Are the traits for fae besides wings pretty much up to you in terms of insect traits? Could they grow additional arms in an insectoid way? Would fair folk also include things like pointed ears?

I'm mostly just looking to see how far you can take monster forms/what they can include/if it's basically just "do what you want as long as it fits the theme of the species".
