Welcome back owlie. We're ready for you.

Blood especially is fairly common as a base in some potions and many spells, since there's a lot of power in it - especially for witchblood. Eren, of course, is very familiar with this already.

In smaller doses, any - well - Witch fluids aren't addictive. They can stabilize a Monster if there's not much else available, and does a fairly good job of giving them the magic they need to let them keep a clear mind. Especially when there's intent put into the sharing of blood, as intent can push a spell into something More easily. Vampires and other routine blood drinkers can do a little better at drinking witchblood long term, so long as they supplement with animal blood and don't always hit a highly magical human source.

But it's rather like pain medication when not properly managed. Monsters with weaker wills, addictive personalities, or even just a hunger they feel they can't quench will find themselves wanting another "fix," as it were. This is why the Coven doesn't endorse getting potions for managing magic needs for Monsters from outside of their confirmed potion makers, as they can never guarantee if they have a witchblood base. The goblin market is notorious in rumors as selling potions that are little more than just a bottle of witchblood.

The need for this fix can result in Monsters succumbing to more feral seeming instincts, where they especially target Witches.
