Quick question about magical energy and Monsters. Can they feel the said energy? (I assumed they can at first, and can tell if there's a huge amount or abundance of it.)

Second, not as quick question - do elemental dragons have any control over their element? Ie can a fire dragon, after being dumped into the fire, use flames to cover their weapon and/or fists, or is their ability limited only to their breath?
