There are numerous locations where he can obtain glasses, and those outside of the Aristocratic District would be willing to let him purchase with currency, trade goods for services, barter, or a combination of the three. Aefenglom sits in an economic hodgepodge, truth be told.
So he'll be stuck with shitty eyesight until he can get an arrangement with a shopkeep. Some might offer to let him be their errand boy or stock their shelves, others might need a favor - and, in fact, there's currently a quest up for the month of may for an eye glasses shop by the name of the Cat's Eye. Instead of getting his full wages, they might be willing to strike a deal with him...
