Hi mods! Thank y'all so much for your hard work lately with everything going on!
Quick clarification questions re: translation:
1. Do names translate? For example if someone is named Yuki, would another character hear "snow" or "Yuki"? 2. Do characters see other characters' mouths moving to form different syllables? Or do they see them as if they're speaking their own native language, which they're hearing? 3. Would recordings from a person's world translate? e.g., if someone has a cellphone with a Nicki Minaj song on it, will that translate into Spanish for a character from Spain? 4. Does the common language of Aefenglom use the Latin alphabet or an older style of different kinds of runes? Separate from those used for magic-related texts/spells. 5. If it does use a Latin alphabet, would it appear that way to someone whose native language doesn't use one? Or would it appear as their native language? Basically meaning would they be aware it's a foreign language that they magically know how to read, or would it appear (for Sasuke, for example) in Japanese? 6. Do the languages which don't translate (other languages in the setting outside of the rune-based one used for magic) use a Latin alphabet? 7. Are there any spells to counteract automatic translation?
